ADDRESS
Station House, Grindleford Station, Grindleford, Upper Padley, Hope Valley, Derbyshire S32 2JA

UTILITY
Ideal holiday venue for walking, cycling, photography & bird watching (or just chilling out!), situated in heart of the Peak District National Park.

THE VILLAGE AND IT’S FACILITIES
Grindleford is home to the Maynard Arms Hotel and Bar, a short walk just at the top of the Station Road and offers great food, both in the bar and restaurant. There is a station café open most days from 9 am until around 4 pm and a pop-up shop attached to the church a 10-minute walk down into the village.

Grindleford station is at the bottom of Padley Gorge with miles of walking tracks all around it including the National Trust Longshaw Estate. The village is on the Sheffield to Manchester railway line with the local train that stops just outside the drive and calls at the villages of Hathersage, Bamford, Hope and Edale, meaning that one can explore other villages, pubs and walking tracks without having to get in a car!

Sheffield is a 20-minute train journey with Manchester 55 minutes in the other direction, should one wish to go to the big smoke!

A 20-minute drive down the Hope Valley will bring you to Castleton, with its Norman Castle, Blue John mines and many pubs. The Spa town of Buxton is a further fifteen minutes journey from Castleton.

In the other direction, the historic market town of Bakewell is a 15-minute drive away, home of the Bakewell puddings.

Chatsworth House and Estate with period gardens, spacious parklands, a farmyard with play area for children and nearby a well-stocked farm shop plus café is also just a 15-minute drive in the same direction.

The attractive village of Baslow is also nearby with an antique shop/gift shops, cafes, and pubs so all in all plenty to do and visit.

Other close by facilities
The nearest general store is at Calver, which is a 5/7-minute drive from the village. It has a very well-appointed Spar shop with homemade bread, cakes, deli and all the usual groceries. There is also a petrol station, a cafe plus two further pubs.
Hathersage (Either a 7-minute drive across the valley or a 5-minute train ride), has three pubs, a wine bar/bistro, a deli, a fish and chip shop, a butcher and veg shop & two Indian restaurants, (of which one offers takeaways and will also deliver takeaway orders to the door).

Station House has a No pet policy
